A Full-Service Marketing Agency

The marketing line that
shows its working.

Metis House builds revenue-generating communities for four industries, Fit-Out & Interiors, Construction Recruitment, Renewables and MedTech, and runs three ways to use the room: Revenue Gatherings, Industry Clubhouses and Eclectic Corporate Days. Same five teams behind every one, so nothing is left for a sponsor to hope for.

Why a curated room works
Every other event is built for one relationship: a sponsor hoping a buyer walks past. A Metis House room is built for three.

Put the right thirty people in a screened, invitation-only room, and something other than sales calls starts happening. Suppliers stop competing for the same five minutes of a buyer's attention and start finding each other. Buyers stop guessing whether a recommendation is genuine and start asking the person next to them. None of that happens in a hall of eight hundred strangers.

The profiling behind it

You know who has a project before you walk in.

This is the same qualification sheet behind every Metis House community. Every one of the 80 decision makers in a room completes it before they arrive: a live project, a budget stage, a decision date, and what they care about most. Pick a sector to see a sample sheet, and the room profile a sponsor sees before the edition opens.

How Metis House builds a community

A full-service agency,
built to build the room.

Metis House is a full-service marketing agency that focuses on one thing: building revenue-generating communities. Five capabilities do the work behind every edition. The end product is the same as it's always been, the Gathering and the Clubhouse. This is what builds them.

01

Social Media

Builds content strategies

The sector conversation, kept warm between editions, not just promoted in the run-up to one.

02

Digital Engagement

Creates the structures

The registration flow, the qualification sheet, the matching logic. The scaffolding nobody sees, that makes the room work.

03

Event Management

Creates the day itself

Venue, catering, AV, entertainment, run properly, so the only thing anyone remembers is the conversation they had.

04

KOL Building

Builds thought leadership

The keynote, the panel, the plenary. What earns a senior person's day, and what a sponsor's name gets attached to.

05

Delegate Attraction

Creates the buying group

Research, warm introductions, one-to-one calls. Not a mailing list. The hardest part, and the one that makes the rest worth having.

The room, or the day

Revenue Gatherings, Industry Clubhouses, or Eclectic Corporate Days

Everything on the left converges on one thing: a screened, curated room, twice a year or all season, or a bespoke day out, built to the same standard every time.

The market backs this up

*Based on the roughly 1% lead conversion rate reported for mid-market in-person events (HockeyStack, 2025). Eighty decision makers is a target for each edition, not a guarantee. Extra conversations and live-project counts come from the assumptions you choose, not from a commitment by SueCo. Pipeline and return apply your close rate and deal value to every conversation and are illustrative, not a guarantee. Figures exclude VAT.

Know Before You Arrive

Every delegate is qualified before the room fills.

Each delegate completes the same short qualification sheet at registration. It tells us whether they have a live project, whether the budget is approved, when they decide and what they care about most. With their consent, you see it too. You know who has a project before you walk in, so you spend your meetings where the money already is.

Everyone answers the same questions

All 80 decision makers complete it. No badge scans, and no guessing who is worth a conversation.

You see it first

Sponsors get the room profile and the answers from their matched delegates before the edition, with each delegate's consent.

Your meetings go where the project is

Guaranteed meetings are matched to delegates with a live project and a budget. The rest of the room is open to you as well.

See a sample for your community

Illustrative sample. Every delegate, figure and answer on this page is invented to show the format. Real sheets are completed by real delegates, who choose whether their answers are shared with the sponsors they are matched to.

Reading the results

How the numbers
are worked out.

One number is a promise. The rest are your own assumptions, shown honestly, so you can argue with them.

Guaranteed meetings

The only figure Metis House commits to. Twelve per edition for a Lead Sponsor and six for a Partner, matched to a stated brief and confirmed before the edition opens.

Likely extra conversations

Each edition aims for 80 decision makers. Once your guaranteed meetings are done, the rest of the room is still yours to talk to. You choose what share of the other delegates you also speak to. That is your assumption, not a promise.

Live-project conversations

Every delegate completes the qualification sheet. You choose what share of the 80 have a live project, and the calculator shows how many of your conversations that gives you, known before you arrive.

Pipeline and return

Pipeline applies your usual close rate and your average deal value to your conversations. The safe number counts guaranteed meetings only. The upside adds the likely extra. Both are illustrative, and neither is a guarantee.

The stand comparison

A typical mid-market trade show stand converts around 1% of visitors into leads (HockeyStack, 2025). The bar shows how many visitors a stand would need to produce the same number of conversations.

Built for every stakeholder

One proposal,
six reasons to sign it.

Everyone in the buying group cares about something different. Here is what each of them gets, from both products.

For the CEO

Positioning, Not Just Pipeline

The Gathering

Your name on the Welcome Address, in front of the whole room, twice a year.

The Clubhouse

A standing presence at Wembley or the O2, all season, not a one-off appearance.

For the CFO

A Number Before You Sign

The Gathering

A fixed cost, a fixed number of guaranteed meetings, calculable before you sign, not after.

The Clubhouse

One line in the annual budget, twelve months of access, no repeat sponsorship fees mid-season.

For the Marketing Director

A Metric You Can Defend

The Gathering

A pre-matched meeting converts differently to a scanned badge, attribution built in, not bolted on.

The Clubhouse

Twelve months of brand presence in the room that matters, not two days a year and then silence.

For the Sales Director

Forecastable Pipeline

The Gathering

Twelve to twenty-four confirmed conversations a year with a screened, matched buyer.

The Clubhouse

A standing invitation into the room with the twenty companies most worth knowing in this sector.

For the Operations Director

One Thing To Manage, Not Twenty

The Gathering

Two fixed dates a year to plan around, not a rolling calendar of ad hoc sponsorship asks.

The Clubhouse

One relationship, one account manager, one invoice, not twenty separate diary invitations.

For Partnerships & BD

Where Partnerships Actually Start

The Gathering

A room built for exactly the kind of complementary introduction real partnerships run on.

The Clubhouse

The same twenty faces, all season, the deepest kind of partnership pipeline there is.

Only two Lead Sponsor places exist per community, ever. Tell Sue which community you want and she'll tell you honestly if there is a fit.

The Business Case

Meetings booked
before you arrive.

Old-school, physical, in-the-room networking, because people buy people. Every sponsor meeting is pre-booked and confirmed before either edition opens, so the room is working for you before you've even arrived.

2Editions a year, South and North, on the same programme.
80Decision makers per edition. That is the target.
12 or 6Guaranteed meetings per edition, Lead or Partner.
2Lead Sponsor places per community, ever.
The Gathering

Old-school networking, done properly.

A closed-door event, part business, part genuinely good night out, run twice a year as a South and a North edition on the same programme.

Senior decision-makers attend entirely free, and every application is reviewed for seniority before an invitation goes out. The room is small, screened and invitation-only, which is why the conversations in it are different.

The day runs into a proper gala dinner and evening entertainment, including a comedian or a celebrity speaker, because the best conversations happen after the keynote, not during it.

Why it works

Three reasons it beats a stand.

Guaranteed, not hoped for.

Twelve confirmed meetings for a Lead Sponsor, six for a Partner, each matched to a stated brief. No stand, no scanning badges, no waiting to see who walks past.

A platform, not just a stand.

A keynote or panel seat puts a Lead Sponsor in front of the whole room at once, before the one-to-one meetings even start. Partner Sponsors take a 60-second pitch. Key industry speakers share the main stage, not a generic circuit act.

The deal happens after dinner.

The gala dinner and a comedian or celebrity speaker are built in, not bolted on, because the real conversation rarely happens in the first meeting. It happens over the second glass of wine.

The process

How a meeting
gets made.

Nothing is left to the day. By the time the doors open, the room has already been worked.

  1. 1

    Delegates apply

Every application is reviewed for seniority before an invitation goes out. Senior decision-makers attend on a complimentary pass, hospitality included.

  2. 2

    Everyone is qualified

Each delegate completes the qualification sheet: live project, budget, timing and buying priorities. See the sheet.

  3. 3

    Matched to your brief

Delegates are screened for seniority and an active requirement, then matched against each sponsor's brief.

  4. 4

    Confirmed before the day

Your meetings are in the diary before either edition opens. You see who you are meeting, and why they were matched to you.

  5. 5

    The day itself

Keynotes, panels and rounds of pre-arranged speed meetings, with the rest of the room open to you as well.

  6. 6

    After the dinner

A gala dinner and evening entertainment, then the follow-up. Lead Sponsors get the full delegate list, Partners get their own meetings, and a dedicated account manager stays with you.

The profiling behind every meeting

This is the profiling that makes a Gathering meeting worth having.

Every one of the 80 decision makers in the room completes this before they arrive. Not a badge scan, not a job title off LinkedIn: a live project, a budget stage, a decision date and the three things they care about most, in their own words. It's why a Lead Sponsor's twelve guaranteed meetings are matched to people who can actually say yes, and why the room profile below exists before a single delegate has walked in.

Every delegate, the same sheet

All 80 decision makers complete it at registration. It takes a few minutes, and nobody gets into the room without it.

You see your matches first

Before the edition, a Lead Sponsor gets the room profile and the answers from their twelve matched delegates, with consent.

It's why the meetings work

A pre-booked meeting with a qualified budget holder converts differently to a badge scan. This sheet is the reason.

See a sample for your community

The curated room

A curated room changes
who benefits, and how.

Most events are built for one relationship: a sponsor hoping a buyer walks past. A Metis House community is built for three, and all three are why a closed room outperforms an open one.

Put the right thirty people in a screened, invitation-only room twice a year, and something other than sales calls starts happening. Suppliers stop competing for the same five minutes of a buyer's attention and start finding each other. Buyers stop guessing whether a recommendation is genuine and start asking the person next to them. None of that happens in a hall of eight hundred strangers. It happens because the room is small, the membership is screened, and everyone in it has a reason to be honest with everyone else.

Where the Gathering is a concentrated sitting twice a year, the Clubhouse does the same introduction continuously, so a relationship that starts in one edition is still live long before the next.

A permanent box leased for a full season at a major national venue, shared for twelve months by twenty companies from one community only, your community, never mixed with another sector. That exclusivity is what makes the room work.

Membership also carries access to every event showing at the venue that season, not just the one flagship date, so the box gets used, and the relationship gets built, all year round.

Balanced by design

Never all sellers.
Never all buyers.

Ten decision-maker debentures and ten supplier debentures, so the room is never all sellers or all buyers.

Nobody is in the box by accident. Twenty seats are split evenly between the people who buy and the people who sell, in one sector only.

Why it works

Three reasons it beats
another reunion.

A relationship, not a reunion.

Twenty members share the same box all season, so the conversation never has to restart from a cold open. A relationship that starts in one edition is still live long before the next.

More than one night out.

Every other event showing at the venue that season is yours to use too, so the box earns its keep long before the one flagship date arrives.

What it is

The same format.
A different owner.

Small, senior, invitation-only events work as an open industry programme. They work just as well when one company owns the room and uses it to meet its own buyers.

You already have a channel: partners, resellers, distributors, manufacturers, who sell alongside you or through you. And you already have customers you'd like more time with. A Channel Partner Programme puts both in one room, on your terms.

Metis House does the part that's hard to do well: getting the right people there, and turning their attendance into profiled data and pre-booked meetings. You get the platform, the room and the relationship. Your channel partners fund it.

How it's different

Not a sector community.
Your own room.

The Gathering and the Clubhouse are built around a sector, open to any qualifying sponsor in it. A Channel Partner Programme is built around one company: you.

How the format works

The same four elements,
every time.

This is the same machinery behind every Metis House room. Here, all four point at your own market.

Delegate attraction.

A careful, personal attraction process for hard-to-reach people. Research, warm introductions and one-to-one conversations, not a mailing list and a registration page. Every delegate agrees in advance to take part in a small number of meetings.

Profiled data.

Every delegate is profiled before the day against their current spend authority and their budget plans for the next 24 months. With consent, that goes to you and your matched partners. The data has value in its own right.

Pre-confirmed meetings.

Depending on sponsorship level, each partner receives a set number of pre-confirmed meetings with delegates who match its profile, run speed-date style. Every meeting is qualified and booked before anyone arrives, so the ratio of qualified leads to meetings is far higher than at a large conference.

Plenary content.

Your standing, and your partners' reach, build a plenary strong enough to persuade senior people to give up a day. The filmed sessions and the report carry value long after everyone's gone home.

Two shapes it can take

Same format.
Two different rooms.

Shape one

A senior buyer forum

  • DelegatesSenior decision-makers from your customer base, the people who hold or shape the budget.
  • SponsorsYour channel partners, who want direct access to those same buyers.
  • The pitchA neutral room, away from the noise of a big trade show, that only you could credibly host.
Shape two

A customer incentive series

  • DelegatesYour best customers, invited as a reward, not sold to.
  • SponsorsThe same channel partners, meeting your top accounts on neutral ground.
  • The pitchA day that strengthens the relationship first, and does business second.
The return

What each side
gets out of it.

Illustrative, not a quote. The real figures depend on your market, your channel and how many partners sponsor.

ElementReturn to youReturn to a channel partner
Delegate attractionA room full of your own customers, filled by people who don't work for youDirect access to the customers your own team finds hardest to reach
Profiled dataA mapped view of your customer base: spend, timing, prioritiesProfiles of the delegates they're matched to, before they arrive
Pre-confirmed meetingsEvery meeting logged against a named customer and a named partnerA set number of qualified, booked meetings, not a stand and a hope
Plenary contentYour name on the platform, in front of your own marketPanel exposure and reusable, co-branded content

Compare that to a stand at a large trade show: often £25,000 to £40,000 all in, producing a few hundred badge scans, a small share qualified, and no meeting booked before the day. Here, every meeting is qualified and booked before anyone arrives.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Yours. Metis House runs it, but the room, the branding and the invitation carry your name, not ours.

Only the partners you choose to invite, typically your own channel: resellers, distributors, manufacturers or advisers who sell alongside you.

Your own customers or prospects, attending free. Which ones depends on the shape you choose, a buyer forum or a customer incentive series.

Every programme is scoped to your market and channel. Sponsorship funds the day, so it can be cost-neutral to you. Ask Sue for a working figure.

Yes. A Channel Partner Programme and a Gathering or Clubhouse sponsorship are different products and can run side by side.

The four elements. Most companies can book a venue. Very few can attract hard-to-reach delegates, profile them properly, and pre-book qualified meetings before the day starts. That's what Metis House does.

The Business Case

Fun days.
Incentives.
Built to order.

Not a conference and not a networking room. A bespoke day out for your own people, clients or channel partners, built around whatever brief you give us, from a private zoo takeover to a full day at the track.

You brief itHeadcount, occasion, budget. We do the rest.
1Invoice. Venue, transport, catering and the activity, all on our account.
Staff, clients
or channel
Priced and run the same way, whoever the day is for.
WeeksNot months. No twelve-month lead time to book a day.
What it is

A day built
around your brief.

Every other Metis House product exists to get the right people in a room to do business. This one exists so a day off actually feels like one.

Staff reward days, client entertainment, channel partner incentives. Different names, same format: tell us who's coming, why, and roughly what you'd like to spend, and a named day lead builds the rest.

It might be a private zoo takeover, a track day, a chef's table, or something nobody has suggested to you yet. What it won't be is a laminated menu of three fixed packages.

Examples, not a menu

Four days we've
been asked for.

Every brief is different. These are the kind of thing a day can turn into, not the only four options.

The Private Zoo Day.

A conservation park, closed to the public for the afternoon. Keeper talks, a behind-the-scenes tour, then lunch among the enclosures. Built for a client thank-you or a reward day that isn't another dinner.

The Track Day.

Karting, hot laps in something faster than a company car allows, and a paddock lunch. A reliable favourite for channel partner incentives and end-of-quarter rewards.

The Chef's Table Day.

A private kitchen takeover: teams cook in pairs against the clock, a chef judges, then everyone eats what they made. Built for teams who already know each other and want a proper afternoon, not an icebreaker.

The Field Day.

Clay shooting, archery and a long lunch in a marquee on an estate. The classic for client entertainment, built around the season and the weather.

How it works

From brief
to booked.

  1. 1

    The brief

Headcount, budget, occasion and who's coming. Staff reward, client entertainment or a channel partner incentive, each is priced and run the same way.

  2. 2

    Three options, not a brochure

A named day lead comes back with three real venues and a running order for each, not a menu of forty packages to wade through.

  3. 3

    One booking, one invoice

Venue, transport, catering and the activity are all on our account. You sign once.

  4. 4

    The day itself

A Metis House day lead is on site from arrival to departure. Nothing is left to a venue's own duty manager.

  5. 5

    Afterwards

Photos, a short write-up and, if it's a repeat booking, first refusal on the same slot next year.

Who it's for

Three reasons
to book a day.

Staff reward

A thank you that isn't a bonus

  • WhoYour own team, after a hard quarter or a project landed.
  • Why book itThe kind of day people mention in their leaving speech, not just their payslip.
Client entertainment

A relationship, not a sales pitch

  • WhoThe clients you'd struggle to get thirty unbroken minutes with otherwise.
  • Why book itA day where nobody's selling anything is, oddly, where most of the trust gets built.
Channel incentive

A reward your channel remembers

  • WhoTop-performing partners or resellers, invited as a reward.
  • Why book itPairs naturally with a Channel Partner Programme, as the thing that closes the year.
What's included

One booking.
Nothing to chase.

Always included

  • A named day lead, on site from arrival to departure
  • Venue sourcing and booking, on our account
  • Catering, matched to the day and the headcount
  • A running order, shared with you before the day

Arranged on request

  • Transport and transfers
  • Photography or a short filmed recap
  • Branded signage or gifting for the day
  • A second, linked evening event

Pricing. Every day is quoted against your brief, headcount and venue choice. As a rough illustrative range, a half-day for twenty runs from £2,500, a full day with a private venue takeover from £150 to £300 a head. Ask Sue for a working figure against your brief.

Questions

Frequently asked.

There isn't a fixed minimum, and we've run days from twelve people to well over a hundred. The format and venue change with the number, not the standard of running it.

For a straightforward day, a few weeks is often enough. Anything needing a specific venue on a specific date, an exclusive takeover, a popular season, needs longer. Ask and we'll tell you honestly.

Yes. A Corporate Day is entirely separate from a sector community and can run alongside any other Metis House product, or entirely on its own.

Yes. Plenty of client entertainment days are booked without the venue or supplier knowing who the guests are in advance. We handle that discreetly as a matter of course.

Tell your day lead as early as you can. Catering and headcount can usually flex within reason; a full venue change gets harder the closer you are to the date.

Corporate Days are private bookings, so most don't appear publicly. A couple of illustrative examples are shown on the calendar to give a sense of timing.

Why This Community Needs A Room

UK commercial fit-out is a fragmented market to sell into: decision-makers are senior and time-poor, trade shows sell stand space and hope, and procurement cycles rarely let a supplier into the room early enough to shape the brief.

Speed to Occupation

Delivering a 6–16 week fit-out programme without the usual compromise on quality.

Sustainable Timber & Compliance

The Building Safety Act, embodied carbon, and chain-of-custody sourcing in practice.

The Flight to Quality

What Cat A+ occupiers and heritage buildings now expect of bespoke joinery and fit-out.

AI, Modular Joinery & Smart Buildings

Where digital design and offsite manufacture are genuinely changing delivery.

Why This Community Needs A Room

CITB's Industry Picture 2026 puts the UK construction skills shortfall at 41,200 workers a year to 2030, over 206,000 in total, driven by an ageing workforce, the loss of 200,000+ EU workers since Brexit, and a training pipeline that isn't replacing leavers fast enough.

The 41,200 Gap

CITB's Industry Picture 2026 calls the shortfall structural: an ageing workforce, 200,000+ EU workers lost since Brexit, and a training pipeline that isn't replacing leavers.

Retention, Not Just Recruitment

Over a third of the workforce is 50 or older. Workers leaving too soon is one of four connected causes of the gap.

The Competence Shortage

Heat pumps, passive fire protection and Building Safety Act competency are creating shortages vacancy statistics don't capture.

Winning Young People Back

Apprenticeship starts, career progression and the industry's image. Closing the gap needs new entrants, not just faster hiring.

Why This Community Needs A Room

The UK needs an additional 120GW of renewable generation and storage connected to hit Clean Power 2030, against a reformed but still 700GW-deep connection queue. Developers and the supply chain need to be talking directly, more than once a year.

The 700GW Queue

NESO's reformed Gate 1 and Gate 2 connection process is clearing out speculative projects, but readiness now decides who connects first.

Clean Power 2030

An additional 120GW of renewable generation and storage needs to connect to hit the target.

Storage as Infrastructure

Battery co-location with generation assets, and what the government's Flexibility Roadmap means for how projects are financed.

Skills for a Rewired Grid

New demand for HV engineers and connection planners the sector doesn't yet have enough people to fill.

The draft Medical Devices (Amendment) Regulations 2026 are realigning GB rules with the EU MDR and IVDR, an international reliance route is due from autumn 2026, and a dedicated MHRA framework for AI as a medical device is landing the same year. Every one of those decisions carries a real commercial choice for manufacturers, and NHS procurement is reforming in parallel to try to make approval actually convert into adoption.

The New Medical Devices Regulations

Draft Medical Devices (Amendment) Regulations 2026, aligning GB rules with EU MDR and IVDR, with adoption expected late 2026.

AI As A Medical Device

The MHRA's dedicated SaMD and AI framework landing in 2026, built on learning from the AI Airlock regulatory sandbox.

The International Reliance Route

A faster path to market for devices already approved in Australia, Canada or the US, expected from autumn 2026, and the 2026 decision of whether to wait for it.

NHS Adoption & Procurement

DTAC's refreshed criteria and transition deadline, and the push to align MHRA approval with NICE evaluation so approval actually converts to NHS use.

Backed by real relationships, not a stand fee.

Both Lead Sponsor places are open for MedTech. The first company to agree terms secures the founding place and helps shape the agenda from day one.

No Lead Sponsor is confirmed yet for this community. Potential categories: Device manufacturers, regulatory affairs and UKCA consultancies, clinical evidence and health economics specialists, NHS procurement advisers, connected device cybersecurity providers. Any additional sponsor is agreed with the first Lead Sponsor before anyone else is approached.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Senior decision-makers attend on a complimentary pass, hospitality included, and are never asked to pay. Every application is reviewed for seniority before an invitation goes out.

Every delegate is profiled at registration, screened for seniority and an active requirement, then matched against each sponsor's brief.

Pricing is enquire-only and scoped per community. Ask Sue directly for the figure relevant to a decision-maker or supplier debenture.

Services for Individuals

Say the word.
Consider it done.

A personal concierge for construction's most valuable client and partner relationships. Twenty years of relationships, on call, put to work. Not an app, not a ticketing site, a single number that answers.

1 personSue answers. No call centre, no junior filtering your request.
20 yearsOf venues, chefs, pilots, drivers and box offices who pick up her calls.
7 daysA week, for Personal Signature members.
12 placesSignature membership is capped at twelve, permanently.
How it works

One number.
One person.
No queue.

There's very little Sue hasn't already been asked for once: a sold-out final with four days' notice, a helicopter, a table that isn't listed anywhere.

You tell her what you want, when you want it, and who's coming. She tells you straight whether it can be done. If it can, she does it. If it can't, she says so on the first call, before you've spent a day hoping.

There is no portal, no ticket number and no menu of packages. The person who answers the phone is the person who solves the problem. She does it through twenty years of people who take her calls: box office managers, head chefs, pilots, hoteliers, drivers who know which door the lift really opens on.

Most members start small. A table for Friday. Two seats for something that's sold out. Then the calls get bigger, because the first ones worked.

What Sue arranges

Four kinds of yes.

Event access

Centre Court at Wimbledon. The paddock at a Grand Prix weekend. Closed auctions. Fashion Week front rows. If it sells out publicly, our members were already confirmed privately.

  • Sport's big days. Wimbledon in SW19, Silverstone in Northamptonshire, Royal Ascot in Berkshire, Cheltenham in Gloucestershire.
  • Culture after hours. Private views, closed auctions and opening nights in London, with a name on the door.
  • Fashion Week. Front-row seats and the parties that happen once the shows are over.

Private dining

A chef's table that isn't listed anywhere, and a room that closes to every other guest for the night, because you asked.

Sue always asks three things: how many, what's the occasion, and who's the fussy eater. Then she picks up the phone to a chef she has known for years.

  • The counter you can't book. A table for six at a restaurant that takes no reservations, in central London.
  • A whole room to yourselves. A private dining room over a Soho restaurant, or a Mayfair townhouse laid for twelve.
  • Out of town. A long table in a Cotswold barn with the chef cooking behind you.

Travel & aviation

A helicopter from a Mayfair rooftop to pitchside in twenty minutes. A yacht crewed and waiting before you land.

The small things matter just as much. A driver who is already at the right door of the right terminal. A car that is warm. A hotel room that is ready when you arrive at 7am, not 3pm.

  • By air. Helicopter transfers, private charter, and commercial seats in cabins that were supposedly full.
  • By sea. Crewed yachts in the Solent, the Med and the Caribbean, booked for a day or a fortnight.
  • On the ground. Chauffeurs who know the route, the back entrance and the fastest way out.

Landmark occasions

A retirement marked properly. A proposal timed to the second. An anniversary that becomes the thing people talk about for years.

  • The proposal. A private launch on the Thames as the lights come on along the South Bank, with the ring handed over by the skipper.
  • The fortieth. A Scottish estate for a weekend, pipers at the door, whisky in the library.
  • The retirement. Sixty guests in a livery hall in the City, with a menu built round the guest of honour's favourite things.
The 2027 diary

The dates members ask about first.

Most members plan the year in one call. These are the fixtures that come up again and again, and every date below is on the 2027 calendar.

Whether a particular seat, box or paddock pass is available is a conversation with Sue. The earlier it starts, the more there is to choose from.

  • Fri 5 Feb to Sat 13 Mar2027

Five rounds across six grounds: Twickenham, Murrayfield, Cardiff, Dublin, Rome and Paris. Rugby by day, the right table in the right city by night.

  • Tue 16 to Fri 19 Mar2027

    Cheltenham Festival

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Four days of jump racing and twenty-eight races, ending with the Gold Cup on the Friday.

  • Thu 8 to Sat 10 Apr2027

Aintree, Liverpool. Three days at the most famous steeplechase in the world, with the National itself on the Saturday.

  • Fri 4 to Sun 6 Jun2027

    Monaco Grand Prix

Monte Carlo. A sprint weekend for the first time, which means two qualifying sessions and a harbour full of yachts to watch them from.

    Royal Ascot

Ascot, Berkshire. Five days of racing and hats. Gold Cup and Ladies' Day is the Thursday.

  • Fri 2 to Sun 4 Jul2027

Recently arranged

Three calls, three answers.

Centre Court, sold out.

Four days before a Wimbledon final, there was nothing on sale anywhere. Sue rang a hospitality partner she has worked with for years. Two seats were confirmed within a day.

Tickets went to a phone, a car was booked for SW19, and a table was held for the interval.

The chef's table.

A client was in London for two nights and wanted somewhere nobody had ever taken him. The restaurant of choice doesn't take reservations. Sue called the chef directly.

Six of them ate at the pass that week, a few feet from the fire, at a table that didn't exist on any booking site.

Wheels up in an hour.

A site visit two counties away was brought forward at nine in the morning. By ten a helicopter was waiting on a Mayfair rooftop.

The client landed in time for a working lunch on site. The drive would have taken most of the morning.

The process

How a request works.

  1. 1

    Tell Sue

Message or call with what you want, when, and how many. A rough idea is enough. She fills in the gaps.

  2. 2

    Get a straight answer

She tells you what's possible, what it costs and what the catch is, before anything is booked.

  3. 3

    She arranges it

Sue calls in the venues, chefs, pilots, drivers and box offices. You hear from one person only.

  4. 4

    You turn up

The tickets, the car and the table are waiting. Afterwards she asks what worked, and remembers it next time.

We work with partners to deliver. Sue is your single point of contact, but every request is fulfilled through a trusted network of venues, hospitality operators, chefs, drivers and box office contacts built over twenty years. You make one call. The delivery happens through relationships, not a booking engine.

The ultimate
once-in-a-lifetime.

Three experiences a year, capped at forty guests each, that most people only ever hear about afterwards. Each one is built once and never repeated the same way twice. If you have to ask what it costs, you're exactly who this is built for. If you already know, you already understand why.

3Experiences in 2027: the Aegean, Las Vegas and the Caribbean.
40Guests on each one, hard cap, guest list final once accepted.
Apr to JanFrom late April 2027 to the first days of 2028.
£17.5KThe lowest price per guest. The highest is £22.5K.
The 2027 programme

Three trips.
Forty seats each.
Once.

Every Ultra Experience starts with one question: where could forty people go that nobody else can? Then Sue spends a year making the answer true.

Places are offered to people Sue knows or has been introduced to. The guest list is built so the room works, because the people around the table are half the experience. Once the guest list is accepted, it is final.

Ultra Experience One

The Island, Closed To Everyone Else.

When Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 April 2027
Where A private island in the Cyclades, Greece
Guests 40, hard cap

For four days, an island in the Cyclades belongs to forty people. No other boats moor in the bay. No day-trippers walk up from the harbour. Every member of staff on the island is yours for the duration, and there is no reception desk to buy your way past.

Late April is the best week of the Aegean year that nobody talks about. The hillsides are still green and full of wild flowers. The light is soft and long. The summer crowds are two months away. The sea is fresh, so swimming is for the brave, and the rest of the island is for everyone else: boat trips round the coves, long lunches on the sand, a fire lit on the beach after dark.

You arrive by private charter from Athens. The bay is empty, a table is laid on the terrace, and a glass is already in your hand. Nobody asks you to fill in a form.

“The kind of exclusivity that can't be bought at any hotel, because there's no reception desk to buy it from.”

Day by day

Thursday22 April

Arrival

2.00pm

Meet in Athens for the private charter transfer. Your bags go ahead of you.

5.00pm

Land on the island. Rooms, a walk up to the terrace, first drinks.

8.30pm

Welcome dinner on the terrace, as the last day-boats leave the bay and the island empties of anyone who isn't a guest.

Friday23 April

The island is yours

9.00am

Breakfast whenever you like. From ten the boats leave the jetty for the coves. Nobody is counting heads.

1.00pm

A chef-run beach lunch: whole fish over the coals, tomatoes that taste like tomatoes, cold white wine.

4.00pm

A free afternoon. Watersports for the brave, a hillside walk, a hammock. The water is still cool in April, so wetsuits are on the jetty for anyone who wants one.

9.00pm

One long table under the stars, forty places, no speeches.

Saturday24 April

A slower day

10.00am

Spa and villa time. A spa team is on the island for the weekend.

2.00pm

A late lunch, then nothing on the schedule until dinner.

7.45pm

Departure dinner on the water, a table set out on the jetty as the sun goes down.

Sunday25 April

Departure

10.00am

A last breakfast. Your bags are already on the boat.

11.30am

  • Private charter transfers from Athens, both ways
  • Every meal and every drink, with a resident chef team

Ultra Experience Two

The Paddock, From The Inside.

When Thursday 18 to Sunday 21 November 2027
Where Las Vegas, Nevada
Guests 40, hard cap

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is the only race on the 2027 calendar run on a Saturday night. The cars go down the Strip after dark, past the fountains and the lit-up casinos, under a sky that never quite goes black. You will watch it from the inside.

Forty guests, strip-side suites and paddock-level access for the whole weekend. That means the paddock club, a private walk through a team garage while the mechanics work, and trackside hospitality all weekend. It does not mean a grandstand seat and a screen.

Between sessions the city does what it does best. Private transfers get you through a town that grinds to a halt on race week. Dinner is booked at tables that don't exist on any reservation app.

“This is watching motorsport from inside the sport, not from the stands.”

Day by day

Thursday18 November

Arrival

Afternoon

Private transfers from the airport to your strip-side suite. Check in whenever you land.

7.00pm

Welcome reception with paddock-adjacent guests: people from the teams, the sponsors and the sport.

Practice and qualifying

Morning

A long, slow start. Breakfast whenever you're up.

Afternoon

Paddock club access and a private walkthrough of a team garage.

Night

Practice and qualifying run late into the night in Las Vegas. Your day is planned around it: a slow morning, a rest if you want one, then out to the paddock.

Saturday20 November

Race day

Morning

Brunch and a free day. The Strip is quiet before the race.

Afternoon

Ultra Experience Three

New Year, At Sea.

When Wednesday 29 December 2027 to Sunday 2 January 2028
Where Antigua, Barbuda and Nevis, Caribbean
Guests 40, hard cap

A chartered superyacht, forty guests, four nights and one crossing into a new year. You leave Antigua at sunset on the 29th. Somewhere between islands you won't be able to name afterwards, and won't especially want to, the year turns over.

The plan is simple. The Leeward Islands sit close together, so the days are short hops and long swims. Barbuda has miles of pale sand and almost nobody on it. Nevis has a volcano wearing a cloud and a beach bar where everyone knows the owner. Between them there is open water, warm and very dark, and December is when the Caribbean season starts and the trade winds settle in.

New Year's Eve is at anchor off an empty coast. Dinner at ten. Fireworks at midnight, fired from a support boat well clear of the shore.

“Fireworks over open water at midnight, and no one else for miles in any direction.”

Day by day

Wednesday29 December

Boarding

4.00pm

Board in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua. Bags go to your cabin, a glass goes into your hand.

6.00pm

Cast off at sunset.

8.30pm

First dinner underway, as the coastline disappears behind you.

Thursday30 December

Barbuda

Morning

Wake at anchor off Barbuda. Pale sand, clear water, hardly a building in sight.

11.00am

Tenders ashore for the beach and snorkelling, then a boat trip into the lagoon to see the frigatebird colony.

8.00pm

Chef-led dinner on the aft deck.

Friday31 December

New Year's Eve

Morning

A slow one. Swim from the back of the boat.

4.00pm

Champagne on the foredeck, as the light turns gold.

10.00pm

Dinner, then music on deck.

Midnight

Fireworks over open water. The only guests for miles in any direction.

Saturday1 January 2028

Nevis

Morning

A late breakfast under way. The boat sails south to Nevis, about five hours.

Afternoon

Ashore for a beach and a long lunch, with the volcano behind you.

Evening

Last dinner on board.

Sunday2 January 2028

Home

Morning

Breakfast on the way back to Antigua.

1.00pm

Disembark at Falmouth Harbour for your onward flights.

What's included

  • Four nights aboard a chartered superyacht
  • Full crew and chef-led dining every night
  • Every meal and every drink
  • Tenders and water toys
  • The New Year's Eve fireworks
  • Private transfers from Antigua airport

Arranged separately

  • International flights to Antigua. Sue can book them for you
  • Travel insurance
  • Extra nights in Antigua before or after
Request An Invitation

New Year's Eve is the hardest date in the year to get. Forty places, and that's all of them.

How to get an invitation

Ask. Talk. Confirm.

  1. 1

    Ask for an invitation

Email Sue and tell her which experience you have your eye on.

  2. 2

    Have a conversation

She'll ask who you are and who you'd like to meet. If it isn't the right fit, she'll tell you.

  3. 3

    Places are confirmed

The guest list is built so the room works. Once it's accepted, it is final.

We work with partners to deliver. Every Ultra Experience is produced with hand-picked specialists: private island operators, motorsport hospitality partners, luxury charter crews. Every detail is handled by people who do exactly this for a living, not generalists.

Figures are illustrative production estimates, not a confirmed quote. Guest list, once accepted, is final.

The 2027 breaks

Three places.
Two dates each.
Two people.

Sue's phone is full of people who own or look after places the public can't book: an estate glen, a keeper's cottage, a chef with a table nobody has heard of.

Each break is one of those places, for one weekend, on a fixed itinerary. You don't choose from a menu. You pick a date and turn up. One booking per date, so the place is yours, and the price is the same for all three.

Eclectic Break One: Scottish Highlands

Off-Grid & Airborne.

When Fri 11 to Sun 13 June, or Fri 10 to Sun 12 September 2027
Where A private glen in the West Highlands
For Two people

A private glen in the West Highlands, a mountain guide with the keys to it, and a helicopter that saves you the last stretch of a six-hour hike. You earn the first part of the view. The helicopter is for the rest.

The weekend starts before anyone else is awake. Via ferrata at first light: iron rungs and steel cable up a rock face above a river gorge, clipped in the whole way. Then the swim, in a deep, clear pool that is cold enough to reset your entire week. By evening you are on a summit with a flask and the whole range spread out beneath you, and a helicopter waiting to take you down before dark.

In June the light lasts past ten and the sky never quite goes dark. In September the air turns crisp, the midges are on their way out, and the bracken goes rust and gold. Both are good. They are different weekends.

“The kind of weekend that ruins ordinary weekends for you, permanently.”

Day by day

Friday11 June or 10 September

Arrival

Midday

A driver meets you at Inverness Airport or Fort William station.

3.00pm

Reach the glen. Kit fitting with your guide: harness, helmet, boots, waterproofs and a wetsuit for the swim.

4.30pm

An easy walk up the glen to loosen the legs, and to see what tomorrow looks like.

8.00pm

Dinner by the fire: Highland venison or hill lamb, and a dram from somewhere small.

Saturday12 June or 11 September

Rock, water, summit

First light

Via ferrata above the river gorge. In June that's before six, and the sky is already light, so there's no cruelty in the alarm.

Midday

Wild swimming in a deep, clear pool. Lunch on the rocks afterwards, still wrapped in a towel.

Evening

The heli-lift, timed to the light: around nine in June, around half past six in September. Sunset from the top, a flask of something warm, then down before dark.

Late

Supper back at the lodge. Nobody talks much.

Sunday13 June or 12 September

A slow way out

9.00am

A breakfast that goes on.

11.00am

A last guided walk, to a waterfall.

2.00pm

A late lunch, then the drive out. Your driver takes you back to Inverness or Fort William.

What's included

  • Two nights in a private lodge at the head of the glen
  • A private chef, all meals and drinks
  • A mountain guide for the whole weekend
  • Kit hire: harness, helmet and wetsuit
  • The heli-lift to the summit
  • Transfers from Inverness Airport or Fort William station

Arranged separately

  • Travel to Inverness or Fort William. Sue can book it for you
  • Travel insurance
  • Your own boots, if you have a pair you love
Ask About This Break

One booking per date. Tell Sue which weekend you want and she'll tell you if it's still free.

Eclectic Break Two: Northumberland Coast

The Lighthouse Keeper's Break.

When Fri 8 to Sun 10 October, or Fri 12 to Sun 14 November 2027
Where The Northumberland coast
For Two people

A working lighthouse cottage, taken over entirely for two people. You reach it at low tide, on a crossing that is dry sand for a few hours a day and open sea for the rest. When the water comes back in, the only people on this side are you, a chef, and a great deal of weather.

This is a break built on autumn. The light is low and gold. The beaches are empty. In October and November the grey seal pups are on the rocks of the Farne Islands, and a private boat takes you out to see them.

There's a stove, a kettle that takes for ever, a shelf of other people's paperbacks, and a chef who arrives with the day's catch: crab, oysters and lobster from the Northumberland coast, Craster kippers for breakfast, lamb from the hills behind.

“There is no wifi worth mentioning, which is rather the point.”

Day by day

Friday8 October or 12 November

The crossing

Afternoon

A driver from Berwick station. Then the crossing itself: wet sand, marker poles and a very slow, very careful drive.

Late afternoon

Settle in. Kettle on, stove lit, a walk out to the point.

Dusk

Your host takes you up to watch the light come on.

8.00pm

First private dinner. Local crab first, then lamb, with the sea as the soundtrack.

Saturday9 October or 13 November

A day at your own pace

9.00am

Kippers, eggs and proper tea.

11.00am

A coastal walk. Empty beaches, dunes, and a castle on the skyline.

2.00pm

A private boat from the harbour at Seahouses out to the Farne Islands and the seal colony, weather permitting.

7.30pm

A chef-led tasting menu, coast to field, with the light going outside.

Sunday10 October or 14 November

Out on the next low tide

9.30am

Breakfast overlooking the water.

Late morning

Pack up and go when the tide lets you.

Afternoon

Back in Berwick in time for an afternoon train south.

What's included

  • Two nights in the keeper's cottage
  • A private chef for every meal
  • Drinks throughout
  • The private boat trip to the Farne Islands, weather permitting
  • Transfers from Berwick-upon-Tweed station

Arranged separately

  • Rail travel to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Sue can book it for you
  • Travel insurance
  • Anything you buy on the way
Ask About This Break

One booking per date. The tide decides the times, so Sue confirms them a few weeks out.

Eclectic Break Three: Manchester

The City After The Tour Groups Leave.

When Fri 15 to Sun 17 October, or Fri 19 to Sun 21 November 2027
Where Central Manchester
For Two people

Manchester doesn't hide. It just has a great deal it can't be bothered to advertise. A rooftop with no public access. A members' bar through a door with no sign. A chef's table that doesn't take bookings, in a neighbourhood where the old cotton mills are now kitchens.

You see the city as the people who live here see it. A private walk with someone who would never call themselves a guide, through the mill streets of Ancoats, along the canal at Castlefield where the railway viaducts stack up over the water, and past the record shops of the Northern Quarter.

The nights are long. The first is rooftop drinks as the offices empty out. The second is dinner at a counter you can't book, at a table Sue can. Both end somewhere you'll try to describe to your friends on Monday and get slightly wrong.

“One last look from somewhere with no sign on the door.”

Day by day

Friday15 October or 19 November

Arrive after work

3.00pm

Check in. The suite has a view and a bottle of something on the side.

6.00pm

Welcome drinks on a rooftop the public can't get to, as the offices below empty out.

8.30pm

Dinner at a neighbourhood place Sue has been sending people to for years.

Saturday16 October or 20 November

The real Manchester

10.30am

A late breakfast at a cafe where the regulars have their own mugs.

12.00pm

Ask About This Break

One booking per date. Tell Sue which weekend you want.

Before you ask

Most are never listed at all.

The three breaks above are examples of the range. Sue has plenty more that never make a page like this one, because the people who look after them would rather not have a page.

If you'd like a weekend that isn't on the list, tell her what you like doing and how far you're willing to travel.

We work with partners to deliver. Every Eclectic Break is arranged with local partners: guides, chefs, keepers and hosts who know the place better than any guidebook.

Ask Sue About A Weekend

About Us

Twenty years of relationships,
now built into a model.

Metis House was founded in 2009 by Sue Carcary, out of a simple observation: the people who could genuinely help each other in business were still meeting each other by accident, at the wrong event, or not at all. Everything since has been an attempt to fix that on purpose.

How Metis House builds a community

Five teams.
One room.

Every Gathering and every Clubhouse is built by the same five capabilities, not bought in from a stand-alone events supplier. That's what a sponsorship is actually paying for.

Whatever built it, the standard doesn't change: a screened, curated room, or a bespoke day, with a named point of contact and nothing left to chance.

Leadership

Sue Carcary & Bob Gilkes.

Metis House is run by its two founders, day to day, not handed off to a management layer underneath them. One built the relationships the model runs on. The other built the sectors it now runs in.

Founder & Co-Chief Executive

Sue Carcary

Sue spent close to twenty-four years in premium event ticket sales and corporate hospitality, arranging the kind of access, event tickets, private dining, travel, that most companies assume is out of reach until they actually ask. Across that career she noticed the same thing, told to her by client after client: the deal that mattered most had come from a relationship, not a marketing campaign, and it had almost always started somewhere physical, over dinner, at an event, in a room.

She founded Metis House in 2009 to build that observation out properly. Twenty years on she still leads every Lead Sponsor relationship personally, and every gala dinner runs to a standard she sets herself.

Co-Chief Executive

Bob Gilkes

Bob spent his career in senior commercial roles selling digital products into the NHS, including as CCO and UK Country Director at EBO and CEO and CRO at Epro. That's left him with deep, current relationships across NHS commissioning and digital leadership, ICBs, trusts and the frameworks that govern how the health service actually buys.

He joined Sue as Co-Chief Executive to take the Metis House model, proven over twenty years in construction and hospitality circles, into sectors with the same problem: senior people who need to meet each other and no honest room to do it in. He leads the MedTech community directly, and the commercial build behind every sector Metis House adds.

How We Got Here

2009 · The Beginning

Metis House founded on corporate hospitality and personal concierge work, built on relationships rather than a brochure of services.

The Years Between

Two decades of arranging what most people assumed couldn't be arranged, learning exactly which relationships actually move a business forward.

The Model Emerges

The same pattern kept showing up across every sector we touched: a curated room outperforms an open one, every time, for buyer and supplier alike.

Communities, Built Properly

Four sector communities live or building today, each carrying the same two standing products, because the model works whether you're in fit-out or fintech.

Industry Advisors

A sense-check from someone who isn't selling anything.

Every community carries an independent industry advisor: a senior figure from that sector, unpaid by any sponsor, who reviews the agenda, the delegate profile and the plenary topics before either edition is confirmed. They're recruited as each community moves from building to live, so the panel below fills in one seat at a time, not all at once.

Fit-Out & Interiors

Industry Advisor

A senior voice from occupier or main-contractor side, sense-checking every agenda against what's actually live on site.

Advisor
placeholder
Construction Recruitment

Industry Advisor

Someone who has run a recruitment or training business through the current labour gap, not just read about it.

Advisor
placeholder
Renewables

Industry Advisor

A developer or grid specialist who can tell a real connection-queue story from a theoretical one.

Advisor
placeholder
MedTech

Industry Advisor

A former NHS commissioner or device-side leader, keeping the room honest about how procurement actually moves.

Advisor seats are recruited alongside each community. Named appointments will be confirmed here as they're made; none are confirmed yet.

What We Believe

People buy people.

Not a landing page, not a lead form, not a banner ad. Every product Metis House builds, the Gatherings, the Clubhouses, Personal Concierge, Ultra Experiences, Eclectic Breaks, exists to put the right people in the same physical room, on purpose, and then get out of the way.

Curated, Not Crowded

A screened, invitation-only room outperforms an open one. We'd rather have thirty right people than three hundred maybe.

Honest About What's Confirmed

If a speaker is tentative or a date is proposed, we say so. Trust is the whole product, and it's the first thing we'd lose by overstating anything.

We Work With Partners

Venues, chefs, guides, hospitality operators. We coordinate the relationship; specialists who do one thing brilliantly deliver it.

Built To Last A Season

A single afternoon is easy to forget. A year-round Clubhouse relationship isn't, which is the entire point of building both products, not just one.

Giving Back

Fifteen per cent goes further than a mission statement.

A room like this only works if the people in it trust the person running it. Part of how Metis House earns that is straightforward: fifteen per cent of profit goes to charity every year, and every gala dinner raises more on the night.

Every Year

15% Of Profit

Committed annually, not just in a good year. Recipient charities are reviewed each year rather than fixed in perpetuity.

Every Gala

The Lead Sponsor Chooses

Every gala dinner runs a charity auction. The Lead Sponsor for that edition nominates the charity, so the cause means something to the room raising money for it.

On The Night

Raised, Not Just Pledged

Auction proceeds are additional to the 15%, raised on the night from delegates and sponsors, and go directly to that edition's chosen charity.

No edition has run yet, so no charity has been nominated or auction held. This is the standing commitment for every Gathering going forward.

The Model, By Structure

What "curated" actually means here.

4
Sector communities, live or building
2

20
Debentures per Clubhouse, ten and ten
Gathering editions a year, South and North

These are structural facts about how each community is built, not a claim about current bookings. See each community's own page for its live status.

Current Opportunities

We're small on purpose. That might change.

There are no live vacancies right now. Metis House hires for a specific need as a community moves from building to live, rather than keeping a generic job ad open. Register your interest and you'll hear first when that changes.

The Company

Careers

That might change.

There are no live vacancies listed here right now. Metis House grows a community at a time, and we'd rather hire for a specific need than post a generic job ad. If that changes, it'll change here first.

What We Look For

Relationship-First People

Comfortable on the phone, in the room, and following up three weeks later without being asked.

Comfortable With Detail

A guaranteed introduction only works if the screening behind it is done properly, every time.

Genuinely Curious About Sectors

You don't need to be an engineer to run the Renewables community, but you do need to want to understand it.

Honest Under Pressure

We'd rather tell a sponsor a date has slipped than quietly hope no one notices.

How We Work

A small team, running four communities.

Each community has an account manager who owns it end to end, the sponsor relationship, the delegate list, the agenda, the night itself. That's a lot of ownership for one person, which is exactly why we hire slowly and specifically rather than building a large generalist team.

The Trade-Off

Real Ownership

You run your community's Gathering and Clubhouse yourself, not a slice of ten other people's.

The Trade-Off

Fewer Layers

Decisions get made by the person doing the work, not routed through three levels of approval.

The Trade-Off

Physical, Not Remote-First

This is a job built around being in the room, at the venue, in front of the sponsor. It won't suit everyone, and that's fine.
